Describe a time when you felt completely lost

I remember when I was told my friend lost his battle against cancer, I felt lost. I didn't know for a month since he lived in another state and I just thought he was busy with life and school. I wasn't aware he had cancer but I do remember getting upset and mad at him since he wouldn't answer me as frequently anymore. When I was told after a month later that he had cancer and passed away, I felt lost. His sister reached out to me on September 7, 2022 and told me what his final words were to me. I remember crying and not being able to talk about it to my parents since he was a boy and my parents didn't like me talking to boys even as friends. Also didn't help he was from another state. I couldn't talk to anybody about it,I felt completely alone and lost.

Today in class we just worked on our one pager and was given a vocabulary sheet we have to work on. I learned how I was able to have a personal connection with the story. It impacted me by making me realize that soldiers suffer everyday with internal conflicts about what they had to do in war.
