3/28 Share your personal tips for preparing for major exams. Include what works best for you—flashcards, study groups, practice tests, etc.—and why.

I personally study alone while listening to music. I review old study guides and make my brother question me. I sometimes do study groups with friends. We both teach each other and review together. I sometime do flashcards but depends on the subject and some tests my teacher assigns.

3/26 What do you think is the hardest part of writing an informational essay—brainstorming the topic, organizing your ideas, finding evidence, or something else? Write one paragraph about the part you struggle with most and how you might overcome it.

The hardest part for me is organizing my ideas. I have a lot of thoughts, but I don’t know where to put them. My writing can get messy and hard to follow. To fix this, I can make a list or outline before I write. This will help me stay on track.

3/25 Write a blog post exploring your thoughts on near-death experiences and what they might reveal about life after death. Do you think these experiences are real, spiritual, scientific, or something else? Refer to details from the article and connect them to your own ideas or beliefs.

I always wonder how and why people have near-death experiences. How does one have it out of nowhere and how do they feel. Are they scared? Are they paranoid that there time is coming to an end. Is it a sign from death its self that there time is running out and fast. "Multiple lines of evidence point to the conclusion that near-death experiences are medically inexplicable and cannot be explained by known physical brain function."

3/24 Discuss how mastering precise vocabulary can impact your daily communication and academic success.

Mastering precise vocabulary helps me say exactly what I mean. It makes my speaking and writing clear and easy to understand. In school, it helps me answer questions better and write stronger essays. People might be more interested in what I say if I use words they haven't heard before. It will also be fun to use against my friends in arguments. But also will make me more confident in my own vocabulary.

3/21 Today’s article discussed how more people are choosing to live in the suburbs rather than in the city. When you become an adult, which lifestyle do you think you would prefer—city life or suburban life? Choose one and explain your reasons clearly.

I will choose a suburban life rather than a city life. The city will be packed and there will always be noise and something going on. The city will also be expensive due to all the people moving in. The suburban area will be quieter and have more space. It will also be more affordable and won't make a huge dent in my future wallet.

3/20 Based on the two informational passages that you've read thus far this week, write about how you will personally strive to avoid student loan debt?

I would start by making a saving accounts and working. I'll start putting money aside but also start applying for scholarships and grants. I'll work during college and get school help. I'll go to a small college then transfer over to a bigger one. I'll have a roommate and split the bills evenly so I won't have to pay everything alone.

3/17 Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

Obloquy is a word that is significant to me. I had a friend, if he knew the word, he would definitely have the word Obloquy written on his back. My parents didn't approve of him and I had a few friends telling me to drop him because he was bad news. Even though he was, he was always there for me when I had bad days and used to get picked on. He was like my protector back then but I moved away due to a family situation. I was always thankful for his protection and friendship. I just hope he's doing good these days and finally fixed his attitude.

3/14 Tariffs are often designed to encourage people to buy American-made products. When you shop, do you check where products come from? Would you be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S.? Why or why not?

I sometimes check where my clothes come from since my brother's always point it out. I wouldn't be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S. Since most of the time the stuff they make aren't in my size or my taste. I want to buy stuff that I know I'll use not just have around in my closet and then use later as a dirty rag. Tariffs won't stop me from buying clothes in the styles I want it.

3/12 Write about a time when your failure was necessary for your growth. Examples of failures could be failing a major exam, failure to make a team, failure in a relationship, etc.

I remember when I failed to communicate with my ex boyfriend when we were dating. I was his first ever girlfriends and I tried to be understanding as best as I can but he was neglecting the relationship. Instead of communicating, I would just ignore him to see if he would ask if something is wrong but he wouldn't. It wasn't up until I broke up with him, that I took a moment for myself. I wasn't communicating and neither was he and that was what brought an end to our relationship. We stayed in contact and one day actually talked about where we went wrong. He apologized for never communicating with me and not doing much with the relationship and I apologized to him for not telling him about how I felt. I was able to realize that communication is key on many relationships, just not romantic ones.

3/11 We discussed achieving your dream. Think of someone who has already achieved a similar dream. What lessons can you learn from their journey?

I always dreamed of getting a full ride to college so I can take the financial burden off my parents. My cousin has the same dream as me and she actually achieved it. She just worked harder during her senior year and started to apply for grants and scholarships. While doing that she was also working to save up money to pay for her own materials. She got a scholarship to a great college and graduated in a good field. Her parents didn't have to pay a single cent since she had the scholarship and money saved over.

3/10 Choose a word from Vocabulary Lesson 12. In at least one paragraph, define the word in your own words and explain where you encountered it. Describe how understanding this word helps improve your communication or writing skills.

Miscreant means a bad person, like a vilian or criminal. I have encountered this word in a few shows I watched with my brother. Understooding this word will help me use it in arguments against my friends just to make it complicated or funny. But it will also improve my vocabulary and make my writing look better. I'll be able to switch out the phrase "bad person" for "he is miscreant." It looks and sounds better.

3/7 Which time do you perfer the most and why, Daylight Savings Time or Standard Time?

I prefer Standard time over daylight savings time. That extra hour of sleep is always welcoming and feels like I'm resting better. During daylight savings time, I just feel like I'm not getting enough rest. I like standard time because I love when the sun starts setting and night last longer. I always preferred night time over day time. Plus, I always use the excuse that it's night time to take sleep when I'm supposed to be cleaning.

3/6 Who is the best cook in your family? Describe a meal that person has cooked for you.

My mother is the best cook in the family. One day, my mom made a new dish she has never made before, Aguachile. I thought it was just ceviche but it wasn't. Aguachile had cucumber, mango, onions, spicy red peppers, shrimp and was spicy. When I tried it the first time, I loved it and my mom makes it on special occasions. I sometimes help make it but mainly I am the taste tester and tell my mom if it's missing anything.

3/4 What is the most disgusting food you have ever had? Tell what it is, what was the occasion, and why it was not so good.

I was my mom's friend's kid's birthday party, they made some rice, beans, and barbacoa. I have eaten it before and I always devoured it but I remember when I tried hers, I threw the plate away. Her food had an odd taste and the flavors weren't mixing well. Not even my parents liked it and made me throw it away. It was too salty and the beans tasted burned. After that party, my mom made food instead so we could all eat.

3/3 As we think about Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word right now "Oh". I use it almost everyday either in text or in person. "Oh" doesn't mean anything but I use it as a way to express myself when I'm surprised by something or in shock. I use it when talking to anybody and usually say it underneath my breath or make a slight face when I say it. When I say it, its always subconscious and I don't realize that I said it until a minute later.

2/28 How important is it for you to retain your cultural foods as you move forward in life? Explain the importance and which foods you cannot live without.

It is important to retain one's cultural food as one moves forward in life. It's important since the food can bring one comfort and you can let other people taste food from your culture. Your own cultural food carries stories, values and identity of your community every time you make it and share it. It's the food people before you made with what they had at the time and we should honor it. Share it with the future generations so they could make it for their own families and taste the love from their community and warmth from their culture and be proud of who they are.

2/26 What is the most important aspect of your identiy? Tell what it is and why.

My important aspect of my identity is my personal experience. Everything I experienced shaped me and made me the person I am today. It was character development and if anybody took time to know about it, they would understand why I am the way I am.  Each experience adds layers and layers to my personality and how I act. Whether its good or bad, it helped me build character.

2/25 How would you feel if your privacy was invaded online or on your phone? Do you think privacy is a basic civil liberty?.

Privacy is a basic civil liberty that everyone is born with. I would feel weird and uncomfortable about somebody invading my privacy online or even on my phone. My phone is my property and whatever I have on there, others shouldn't see it unless I show people or post about it. Having privacy is a natural born right and it's weird when people invade it. It might be something for safety but yet it's weird and uncomfortable to know somebody is always there.

2/24 Describe what you did over the winter break (use at least 5 words from Vocabulary Lesson 10 in your paragraph)

I was babysitting during my winter break since I was impecunious for a few days already. It wasn't bad but my baby cousin's attitude towards me was immutable. He was always so loving and happy to see me, it was like having my best friend back with me. He was a little sick  and each day he did get impair but did make a recovery immediately. My baby cousin did create an impediment since we just wanted to hang out in my room and didn't want others to bother us. There were a few times where I did have to impinge his hand since he was doing stuff I already told him he shouldn't be doing.

2/14 Describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about.

We can just be at home in our comfy clothes. Lights are off, the TV is on playing a movie, blinds are closed and there is our favorite food and snacks. We are just relaxing and enjoying each other's presence while we eat in silence. A moment where we can talk about whatever we want and also play Roblox while playing music in the background. Ending the day sleeping while the music continues playing in the background.

2/12 What is your American Dream? What do you like most about America?

My American Dream was to get a good job that made me a lot of money so I could take care of my parents and give them papers.  I always wanted to repay my parents for everything they sacrificed for me and my brothers to be here and live a good life. What I like a lot about America is the food and how diverse the place is. I see people from different parts of the world here and meet amazing people here. I also like my natural born rights I have and how much more freedom I have here.

2/11 Describe a time when someone offended you with their words.

One time, I was arguing with my friend over something when we were hanging out. It wasn't a big messy argument and just a regular one. We were yelling at each other a bit and then one of her friends called me a bitch. It offended me and made me feel even more frustrated since I am a nice person just this time I was arguing with my friend. This was the first time I ever met her so I was confused on why she tried putting in her little cents into a conversation that didn't have anything to do with her. Me and my friend ended up stopping our argument to cuss her out due to her remark about me. I don't talk to the girl anymore but me and my friend are still amazing friends.

2/10 What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

I learned how to manage money, first-aid, how to handle emotions, communication, and adaptability. These life skills are a few life skills that will help me live independently after high school. Financial literacy, time management, communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving, emotional intelligence, self-discipline and motivation, basic cooking and nutrition, job readiness, adaptability and digital literacy. All these skills are needed because they prepare you to handle real-world challenges independently and confidently. If I learn all these skills i'll be ready to be independent after high school.
