It's Super Bowl weekend! Some people watch the Super Bowl for football, others for the commercials, and some just for the halftime show. What’s your favorite part of big events like this, and why?

My favorite is the half time show since I personally am not into sports that much. I love watching the performances and how unique they get. Or when they sing a song that I haven't heard in a while. I also like when it's a surprise and you don't know what songs are playing. Overall, I am excited and ready to annoy my parents. We took a test and worked on missing assignments.

What do you think are your biggest strengths as a speaker? What challenges do you face when presenting in front of an audience?

My biggest strength as a speaker is not feeling embarrassed to speak in front of others. I can speak clearly and loudly for those in the back to hear. I do face some challenges, I tend to overthink and get nervous since I don't want to mess up or stutter. I forget some information or when it's a signed topic and I don't know it well enough, I tend to try to make it up. I also don't like always being the only one speaking when it comes to a group project since it feels like everything is on me when it comes to speaking. People presented their projects.

If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

If I were to write a poem about my life right now, it would be about how life is unfair. How I have to worry about one day getting home and my parents never coming back. How my mom and dad are telling me it's time to get a job in case they get deported because I will need to step up and help my brother pay the bills. How my room is only the place where I can escape reality or when i'm driving around. How school is draining and people are starting to annoy me, even those I'm close to I find annoying. Describe a time when you had to speak in front of an audience. What were your fears? How did you handle them? What advice would you give to someone struggling with stage fright?

It was during a partner project in environmental science. Me and my friend were working together and she didn't want to speak in front of everyone. She has always been anxious and doesn't like when the attention was on her. She just wanted to hold our project up and say what we did on which I didn't mind since I understood where she was coming from. I talked the entire time in front of the class, I was just nervous that I might get the information wrong. I had the paper in my hand and reread it to myself before presenting and made sure to not rush it. The advice I would give to somebody is to just talk because 99% of the time, nobody is actually listening or looking at you. To take a deep breath and speak when you are ready. Went through a Public Speaking Presentation. Public speaking is the number one fear that the human population has. To practice, revise and get time right before a presentation so you could be ready.
